There are numerous ways for one to be successful in any academic area.
Chemistry is a special course.
It requires dedication, hard work, and perseverance to be successful in
chemistry. Because the nature of
the course requires special language and math skills, it is very important that
you master the basics before trying to understand the “big picture.”
The following are some ways to help you be successful:
1. Re-read your notes every night
and note any points of confusion or misunderstanding.
Make sure to ask Mrs. Deir the following day for clarification.
2. Complete all of the assigned
homework & activities. These are
meant to enrich your understanding, not to keep you busy at night.
3. Use your textbook and/or
additional resources for different explanations.
4. Find a study partner or use your
fellow classmates to work with when completing activities and/or homework.
Two minds always think better than one!
Usually if a peer can explain the topic to you, you will have a better
understanding of the topic.
Some advice on studying/finding the answer:

make finding the answer easier.

Once you have a question in mind, look at your research notes, assignments and
other work to see if you can find the answer.
Be sure to look over your lab notes as well.
