Mrs.Deir
Welcome to Chemistry! name is Kelley McIntyre Deir and I am one of the chemistry instructors at North Olmsted High School.
I will be your teacher for the 2009-2010 school year and would like
to introduce myself to you and tell you some of the goals I have planned for
this year.
I
graduated from Notre Dame College
with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and then earned my Master’s Degree in
Education from Baldwin Wallace.
This is my eleventh year at
North Olmsted
High School teaching
science. I have been involved
in a number of student activities including coaching, Senior Class advisor,
SADD and have been a member of many committees that work to improve the
school community. I enjoy
teaching very much and strive to provide my students with the most positive,
innovative learning process and environment as I can.
As a teacher, not only do I like to teach science, I like to teach
learning skills while incorporating science content.
I would like for all of you to gain a new perspective and
appreciation of science. There
are several ways in which this can be accomplished that are explained in the
course guide. I believe that
every student deserves a learning experience that not only focuses on
content, but on the learning process as a whole.
So not only will you learn science, you will learn how to become
effective learners.
My husband and I have a daughter named Grace and two puppies: Louie (basset hound) and Lucy (beagle).
