Behavior Procedure and Consequences

Students are expected to follow all the rules of conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook as well as all classroom procedures. Depending on the severity of the infraction, failure to comply with these guidelines will result in one or more of the following:

  1. Verbal warning and/or conference
  2. Morning Detention from 7:15 to 7:35
  3. Referral to an administrator
  4. Removal from class

Supplies you should bring to class everyday:

Homework

Homework assignments will be given daily and are due the next class period. Reading assignments will often be given along with written work. It is important that these assignments are completed to enhance the student’s understanding of the daily lesson.

Late homework will be accepted for half credit at the discretion of the teacher. Late homework is defined as any assignment that is turned in after it was originally collected.

Extra credit assignments will be provided occasionally, at the discretion of the teacher.

Homework assignments must be completed following all of the Homework Guidelines.

Testing Procedure

A test will be given after every chapter, approximately every two to three weeks. Quizzes will be given on an as needed basis and will cover information from previous assignments. An unexcused absence of the day of a test or quiz will result in a score of 0.

Make up tests and quizzes must be completed either before or after school.

Notebook and Workbook

Students will be expected to maintain an organized notebook and complete their assigned workbook. Workbooks will be collected each chapter for a grade.

Make-up Work

Make-up assignments will follow the guidelines as stated in the Student Handbook. This time frame is equivalent to “the number of days absent plus one”. It is the responsibility of the student to acquire notes and assignments for the period of the absence. In addition, students must schedule a time before or after school to make up tests or quizzes.

Grading Scale and Procedure

The grading scale follows the standard scale of the school district as outlined in the Student Handbook.

Disclaimer

These guidelines are not meant to be all encompassing. As the year progresses, there may be a need for additional assignments or modifications to these expectations.
