About SITES

Dreamt up in 1990, Started in 1991, Still Going Strong in 2011
NOHS teachers Bob Pierce and Christine Kilbane started a conversation about utilizing the resources of high school seniors to serve the community. Their concept quickly turned the new SITES program into a powerhouse of service and learning, one that has been copied throughout Ohio and across the USA. "Social Involvement Through Education and Service" is based in North Olmsted with over 70 community partners in Northeast and Southeast Ohio. Each student in the program contributes approximately 5 hours of service per week which is connected to their academic studies focusing on, but not limited to social sciences and literature, and writing.
