Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to determine what the students at North Olmsted High School prefer: books or movies.
Purpose behind the Purpose
By determining this, many things can be inferred about North Olmsted High School students. I believe that if they prefer books over movies, it is more likely that the students will have high critical reading and writing skills. The students are more likely to continue reading in the future and keep on increasing their knowledge of the English language even if they graduate from school or college. However, if the results show that movies are preferred over books, we cannot conclude anything about the accumulation of knowledge about the English language after they graduate from high school. Their critical reading and writing skills might or might not improve after they leave high school. Nothing can be inferred.
