Introduction

The purpose of our study is to determine who texts more while they drive male or female, within North Olmsted High School. We first did some background information on our topic and from that we determined that there was no real conclusive study for our age group. Study for teenagers were done from ages sixteen to twenty years old.

For this study we startified the sample of only students sixteen and up in North Olmsted High School. By limiting the sample we made sure that everyone that was selected was eligible to drive. Using minitab we randomly selected 100 males 100 females. The survey requested the selected students to choose their gender, asked if they had their drivers license, and then asked them if they had ever text while driving.

We got back 53 out of the 100 surveys, with 26 males and 27 females. We entered this data into minitab and ran a chi-squared test. We got back a P-Value of 0.893, so we were not able to reject the null hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance.
